International Women’s Day: A Praise to their Efforts

Every year on March 8, the world marks the date for women and celebrates their efforts for accomplishing dreams, ambitions, and achievements. Everyone commemorates this day as International Women’s Day and appreciates women’s struggles to break the bias of gender inequality. Every woman experiences lots of effort in every situation and struggles over several problems. Therefore, on this day, we will appreciate the efforts of women in diverse fields.

Role of Women in Different Fields of Work

Women play an essential role in everybody’s lives. They assist a person in every possible way they can. A woman itself is a power, and hence, they put their best to show the world their best. Every year, women achieve a platform in every field and receive appreciation. Whether it is any platform, such as science, technology, education, politics or sports, women have done their best to prove themselves. Here are some tremendous examples of women who have shown the world that they can do anything they want:

1. Avani Lekhara:

A 19-year-old Jaipur girl set a new record in the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics. After an accident at 11 years old, she got her lower body paralysed. She did not lose her belief and get an achievement by winning a gold medal in the R-2 women’s 10m Air Rifle category.

2. Harnaaz Sandhu:

A small-town girl stole the limelight with her confidence and struggled against body shaming. She won the title of Miss Universe 2021 and made India proud with her confidence in herself. The person who brings the Miss Universe crown to India after 21 years of waiting.

3. Tulasi Gowda:

A lady who is known for her knowledge regarding plants. At 72 years of age, she has planted more than 30,000 plant saplings and received the Padma Shri award for her efforts to protect the environment. She won the title of the Encyclopedia of the Forest for her ability to recognise a plant only by touching it.

4. Falguni Nayar:

A self-made woman who set an example for every girl because of her efforts to become the first-ever female billionaire. She is the founder of Nykaa and owns half of the firm, whose worth is around $6.5 million.

5. Bhawana Kanth:

Since 2012, she has been working as a female fighter pilot in the Indian Air Force. She is the first-ever woman who joined the IAF tableau on the 74th Republic Day parade.

These women set an example for every girl that any barrier can not stop them from achieving their aim and reaching their full potential. They showed that age, health, gender and colour could not become a hurdle in front of their firm determination.

The Theme for the Year 2022

The United States has been celebrating International Women’s Day since 1975. Every year, the UN General Assembly sets a new theme for this day and addresses people to take a step to decrease the distance between women and men. The theme for 2022 is “Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow”. The United States want to appreciate their efforts on climate change adaptation and mitigation for a better future.
