Glorious History of Republic Day

There is a glorious history related to Republic Day. India got free from the British Raj in the year 1947 but India did not have a persistent constitution. After that, the need to have a constitution was quite evident. In order to draft the constitution, a committee was formed. Dr. B.R Ambedkar was appointed as the chairman of that committee with the objective and aim of drafting the Indian constitution. He stated that “If I find the constitution being misused, I shall be the first to burn it,” his words inspired the mass. After making huge efforts for several months, on November 4, 1947, the committee delivered the very first draft of the Indian Constitution. The final adoption and execution of the Indian Constitution took more than 2 years.
