During their exile, <\/span>Sita<\/span><\/i> was abducted by the ten-headed demon and the king of <\/span>Lanka<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>Ravana<\/span><\/i>. Lord <\/span>Rama<\/span><\/i> then along with his brother <\/span>Lakshmana<\/span><\/i> and an entire troop of monkeys lead by <\/span>Hanuman<\/span><\/i> entered on a battle with <\/span>Ravana<\/span><\/i>, won over him, killed him, and salvaged <\/span>Sita<\/span><\/i>. The Tenth day of <\/span>Navaratri<\/span><\/i> is also known as <\/span>Vijaya- Dasami<\/span><\/i> (<\/span>Vijaya <\/span><\/i>stands for Victory and<\/span> Dashami <\/span><\/i>stands for the tenth day in the lunar calendar) in some parts of the country like West Bengal.
